PREAMBLE

The Atlantic Hall – Carleton University Partnership Programme is a package that has two products to offer. Both programmes are facilitated by the Sprott School of Business of Carleton University in Canada, and are largely to help Atlantic Hall students stand out academically and entrepreneurially in the global world. The two products are:

i. The Students Internship Programme and

ii. The Train-the-trainers’ Programme.

STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (SIP)

The Student Internship Programme (SIP) is an excellent way for Atlantic Hall students to gain real-world work experience, develop contacts in their field of choice (career pathway) and build their resume to better market themselves for future career opportunities. The SIP also offers the enrollee high-level direct supervision, training, and mentoring from Carleton University Undergraduates and seasoned lecturers. The enrollees will also be taught clear and attainable entrepreneurship learning goals.

TRAIN-THE-TRAINER ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME (TTEP)

The train-the-trainer programme, for Atlantic Hall teachers focuses on relevant and different experiential learning techniques and approaches emphasizing innovation in entrepreneurship at the level of high school students. All students from Year 7 – 12 (JS1 – SS3) benefit from the TTEP.

BENEFITS OF THESE PROGRAMMES TO TEACHERS

  • To develop an entrepreneurial mindset to deliver their subjects to students in an entrepreneurial way thereby acting as role models for them. It also helps Atlantic Hall teachers to shape their instruction practices to make them more functional, enterprising and global-centric.
  • To acquire an entrepreneurial and innovation-oriented mindset.
  • To further enhance teachers’ capacity to work in teams, solve problems and think creatively.
  • To engage in or initiate a thought-provoking conversation that elicits foundational solutions to prevailing problems.

BENEFITS OF THESE PROGRAMMES TO STUDENTS

  • Teachers will be able to support the students to use the value proposition framework to articulate a better business model or business idea for a company client.
  • The SIP will also help students to identify business opportunities and to develop the right mindset to embrace it.
  • Through the programme, the students will develop analytic, innovative, and critical thinking skills by working with their teachers to solve many problems.
  • The programme also helps clubs to be used as opportunities for entrepreneurship. This will give room for creating a challenge for students in their clubs to shape interdisciplinary projects.
